Health & Safety Policy

Lámh Dhearg CLG are committed to protecting our members, both playing and non‐playing. In order to prevent accidents from happening the Club will undertake to follow best‐practice guidelines to ensure safety of our members in terms of facilities, equipment, coaching practices, vetting, qualified volunteers, and first aid provision.

Health & Safety Policy

Our Commitment:

  • Undertake regular inspection of the club premises and equipment.
  • Have appropriate insurance cover for all activities and facilities undertaken by the club.
  • Ensure that all people undertaking roles within the club are suitably qualified for the role, and have undertaken relevant training.
  • Ensure that, in‐line with the club’s Coaching Policy, coaching practices within the club are appropriate for the age, ability, training load and environment relating to individual players.
  • Report any injuries or accidents sustained during any club activity or whilst on the club premises.
  • Ensure that all members are aware of, understand and follow the club’s health & safety policy.
  • Ensure that the implementation of the policy is reviewed regularly and monitored for effectiveness.
  • Appoint a competent club member to assist with health and safety responsibilities.
  • Ensure that normal operating procedures and emergency operating procedures are in place and known by all members.
  • Provide access to adequate first aid facilities, telephone and qualified first aider at all times.
  • Where a defibrillator is present that a Defibrillation Responsibility Policy is adhered to.
  • Ensure that all volunteers working with children or vulnerable adults are vetted using Access NI.
