LORD MAYOR`S OFFICE

On 25th February the Lord Mayor, Tom Hartley, hosted a reception for local GAA clubs in the Civic Offices in Clarendon Dock.  Lámh Dhearg were represented by a small delegation of parents and children.  The children were greeted individually by the Lord Mayor and shown around his office and meeting rooms before being provided with a hot buffet and refreshments.  Also in attendance on the night was the Sam Maguire, Tommy Markham and Tommy Murphy trophies.  The children were given a brief history of the Sam Maguire before being given the opportunity to get their photographs taken with all the trophies – and the Lord Mayor.

ST PATRICKS DAY TRIP TO CROKE PARK

On St Patricks Day a group of 48 Children and 19 Adults headed to Croke Park to watch the club hurling and football finals.  The group met up at the club at 9.00 a.m. and headed off shortly afterwards making a few stops along the way.  When we reached Dublin the children were excited to see Croke Park but met a few friends first before entering the stadium (see pictures).  With faces painted and hats distributed the children quickly found their seats and enjoyed both matches – and the special half time entertainment that was put on as part of the 125 year celebrations of GAA.  On the return journey a necessary stop was made at McDonalds and eventually we made it home for 10.00 p.m.  The committee of Coiste ná NOg would like to thank all the participants for their exemplary behaviour throughout what was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all involved.
