This years juvenile award night was held at the Thrupenny Bit complex at the Kings Hall,Coiste Na nÓg Chairman Brendan Herron introduced special guests Paddy McIlvenny (South Antrim),Patrick Cunningham (Antrim,Lámh Dhearg),Charlie Vernon(Armagh),Raymond Herron(Ulster Colleges,Lámh Dhearg) to a packed hall of over 300 members.
Brendan welcomed the guests the youth of Lámh Dhearg and their parents to what has become an important event in the youth calender over the last 20 years.Brendan spoke about the continuous development of our teams in South Antrim leagues from U10 to minor in both codes and the introduction of girls U12 and ladies teams to our club,he also spoke about our trips to Lucan Sarsfields(Dublin),Ballymena,and the annual trip to Croke park all of which are important to our youths cultural and educational needs.
After a three course meal the presentation of team and individual awards took place with special mention going to the U12 footballers who won Div2,U16 Hurlers who won Div2 and the outstanding achievement of the U16 Footballers who won the TREBLE (South Antrim League,South Antrim Championship.All County Championship)
Peter Kane oversaw the team and individual awards and paid tribute to Coiste Na nÓg and its committee for putting on a memorable night
