Our Club day was a  huge success with a large crowd of members enjoying the coaching, the open air eneregetic and fun work out conducted by Fitness Freddie and the quality barbecue prepared by Collette Weldon. Many thanks for all who contributed to such an enjoyable day which will surely become an annual event in the club calendar.

Launch of Strategic Plan

Lámh Dhearg CLG recently launched their exciting, innovative and visionary 5 Year Strategy Plan in their clubrooms. In attendance was  Ryan Feeney, Ulster Council’s, Community Development and Inclusion Officer , County Vice Chairman, Jim Murray, County Secretary Frankie Quinn, South Antrim Vice Chairman, Joe French , South Antrim Treasurer, Brendan Wilson and a broad spectrum of club members.

The Strategy plan was very professionally and succinctly   presented by a variety of guest speakers, Club Chairman Brendan Herron, Ryan Feeney, Ulster Council, Jim Herron Strategic Development Committee, Club Maith Officer, Kevin Murray, Cultural Chairman, Raymond Herron and Michael Brady, Strategic Development Chairperson to a very captive and keen audience.

The comprehensive and forward thinking Strategy Plan will see the newly elected Executive Committee focus on developing the club for the future in a number key areas such as

·         Governance
·         Youth

·         Finance

·         Culture

·         Games Development etc

Club Link Up With Ballymacward Primary SchoolBallymacward PS has formally signed a formal agreement with the club as part of the County Antrim Games Development Strategy. This new exciting initiative will be very beneficial in strengthening local community links between the school and club. An integral aspect of the agreement will see the County regularly providing Coaching in the school. The coaches will encourage and direct any pupils keen to sustain their interest in Gaelic games who are not affiliated to any club to join us.

Paul Buchanan will be the club /school link officer

Other aspects of the link will be:

·    Direct links between club and school websites

·    Lámh Dhearg notice board will be displayed in the school to promote pupils of relevant club activities

·    Club leaflets outlining the club’s youth policy will be distributed to parents

·    If possible Lámh Dhearg will assist the school in provision of club facilities in catering for school events

·    The club will invite the Principal, staff and Board of Governors to club events
