Minors In the Dark - 5/9/10

County Minor Football Championship Final - 1/9/10

It’s the club’s first appearance in a minor final in 16 years and we last won the title 18 years ago. In fact in our distinguished history, we have only won two minor championships in 1988 and 1992. Therefore it’s a momentous and proud occasion for our mentors, team and the club and we would encourage all members and their families to come along to Casement and support and cheer on our minors.

The club would like to extend good luck wishes to our Minors on Friday Night.Lámh Dhearg abu.

Rave Reviews for hosting championship games -
23/8/10
Selection of reviews posted on county website regards our hosting of championship games at the weekend.

'Impressed Spectator 22 August 2010'
Just want to say a big thank you to Lámh Dhearg GAC after watching the Intermediate Championship game between St. Enda's and Aghagallon there tonight. Credit must go to their club and indeed the volunteers who clearly put a lot of effort in to run the match very smoothly. There were friendly stewards dotted around the Hannahstown grounds, with many helping to guide the spectators, such as myself, into parking spaces as we entered. There was a PA system in use which enabled the national anthem to be played before the game and also announced the fact that there was tea, coffee and other refreshments available at half time. This was particularly welcome as the fans endured some poor weather in the first half. The pitch, which was clearly lined out and flagged along the side and endlines, was immaculate and withstood the heavy rain very well. All of these seemingly small details (which I'm sure took a long time to prepare) really helped to enhance the Championship experience and again I would just like to thank this club for their well-organised, friendly management of this game. Everyone always seems to be quick to criticise and I just think credit should be given where and when it's due. Maith síbh.

'Seán MacOirc 22 August 2010'
Just to concur with 'Impressed Spectator' comments. Lamh Dhearg GAC put on a great show in terms of stewarding, hospitlaity and preparation for the Intermediate Football Championship game between Aghagallon and St. Endas. The referee and officals were also assisted with the provison of linesmen and stewarts also restricted the number of competing club offials, permitted on the sidelines. Well done to Lamh Dhearg and all concerned. Many othe clubs could take a lead from this cohesive and well managed approach in hosting championship games.

'Blue and White 23 August 2010'
Congratulations and thanks are extended to the Committee and members of Lámh Dhearg CLG for hosting the SFC game between St. John's and Ahoghill. The facilities, hospitality and organisation on the day were excellent (You even ordered good weather!) It obviously took a great deal of hard work by the Hannahstown club members. Well done to all involved!

Club host All Saint's from Ballymena

Recently the club hosted a very successful joint coaching and fun day with Ballymena's U8/10 footballers and Under 12 Girls. Both panels were integrated and participated in a circuit of skill drills and a series of mini games. After the coaching, refreshments were served in the clubrooms and both panels, mentors and parent's energetically and enthusiastically danced away as DJ Declan Wilson spun the discs in a very jovial atmosphere.
